Oh wise one, I disagree that you couldn't write something to bring out the beauty your camera captured in these clouds. I've read your poetry, and know that you could do the pictures justice.
Isn't the western sky just wonderful, soul expanding, and breath taking? When we lived in Colorado Springs, we lived on a slight hill and could see Pikes Peak and the Rampart Range off to the south and west. Watching clouds build over the mountains and drift off to the east was just wonderful. And thunderstorms were even better with their legs of lightning and skirts of virga. Then often in summer, they'd show bright rainbows of color a the low evening sun shown on the showers.
Yes, it is wonderful to live in the west. Thanks for sharing your skies with a city-locked country boy. :-)
Chris was born in England and graduated HS in 1958. She was employed by the UK Medical Research Council Radiobiological Unit at AERE Harwell in their histology lab and genetics division before leaving for the USA in 1964. In the USA she was employed most of her life by the Northern Cheyenne Tribe, first as a Head Start teacher and then as a Chemical Dependency Counselor, Trainer, DUI Instructor and Grant Writer. She retired in 2003.
